FINAL PROJECT FOR SEMESTER ONE

Part 1 of 3

Based on the common colours Caravaggio uses in his work I took these colours and transformed it into a makeup look. I used the contrast of the earth toned colours agaisnt my warmer complexion as well as the use of bronzer to create this comparable contrast similar to Caravaggio's work.

The use of these earthy warm tones created a sultry look which Caravaggio incorporates in his work. This also showcases a great similarity between my work and Caravaggio's.

Before I created the final look I experimented with a different look on a paper print out of a face, initially I had no idea what to do for the eyes. I experimented with a less  blended feel and used more lines. After focusing more on the techniques and the style of Caravaggio it was apparent to me that this type of look did not show and obvious comparison between the makeup and Caravaggios work.

Joe Keys Inspired Makeup

For this look i decided to create a pink and purple cut crease. I decided to do a cut crease to represent the collage element of Joe Key's work, the cut crease showcases the divide between the elements used in the work.

I took Joe Key's colour shceme as when I looked at his work all of his works involve tones of pinks. As well as this the black eyeliner I used which is a demonstration of the black Key's uses in his work, it creates a prominent contrast between the muted pink shades. I made sure my face was quite brights in order to show the contrast between my makeup and the highlights in Joe Key's works.

ROBERT RYMAN

For my final makeup look I decided to one inspired by Robert Ryman's common colour scheme. This includes different shade of white and neutral tones. The way I Incorporated Rymans work into my makeup look was by creating a simple white cu crease using a bright white eyeliner. For my face base I used light and neutral tones to showcase how Ryaman incorporates neurtal tones in the background of his work. I decided to create a cut crease as I felt it would make an obvious difference between my netrual base and the white. The makeup look has no importance or signifcance other than to share similarities to Rymans work.
